My best friend since 6th grade has depression. In 7th grade she told me she was cutting. My heart dropped that day. She has had anxiety problems, will completely block all of the people who really care about her out, and the next day will be fine. 3 other friends of mine have depression. One tried to slit his own neck. He is ok, but I'm still worried. I thought my life couldn't get any worse. Well I was very very VERY wrong about that. Wednesday she told me the worst news someone can possibly hear from a friend. We were eating lunch with all our friends when I asked her why she didn't answer any of my texts, and I didn't see her all day. She looked at me and said, - Wait did I not tell you?- -Tell me what...- I said. - I have a heart problem.- She said casually. I cried my self to sleep. She told me before her friend since 4th grade.

I'd rather not give you advice without knowing your entire situation. Giving you advice as a stranger is dangerous and impractical. Rather to help you the most I can, I'll recommend (not advise) sensible approaches to your situation.
You best friend since 6th grade has depression as you said whom you said in 7th grade tried to cut herself. It's a good trait of you that you are worried about her. You mentioned that she would block people out. Mostly people like that who would block other people would rather have themselves listened to first than listen to others initially. I'm not sure with your case, though.
I think the best way to handle this is for you to talk to her parents if you haven't still. You can tell her that you have been best friends for long and you are there for her. However, if she wouldn't like to talk to you for while, do not force her. Wait for a time when she's at ease or write a letter instead or give her a gift.
